The RISE Method
This short meditation is based on the RISE Method — a trauma-informed, nervous-system approach I use with women who are burnt out, overwhelmed, and tired of holding it all together.
RISE isn’t about fixing you or pushing through.
It’s about helping your system shift out of survival mode and back into something steadier.
Here’s what we’re doing in these few minutes:
R — Regulate
We start by calming the nervous system.
Slowing the breath. Settling the body.
No forcing relaxation — just creating enough safety to pause.
I — Integrate
Instead of ignoring exhaustion or stress, we acknowledge it.
Burnout doesn’t mean something is wrong with you — it means you’ve been carrying a lot for a long time.
S — Shift
We gently loosen the grip of “keep going,” “don’t fall behind,” and “I should be able to handle this.”
This is where the nervous system begins to reset.
E — Embody
We reconnect with the part of you that’s steady, grounded, and capable —
the part that doesn’t need to prove anything or power through this moment.
